Hepatitis C Treatment
Viral Hepatitis is a serious health threat in our community. We have a unique challenge to providing treatment. People who screen positive are placed on a waiting list to be notified when and if a new hepatitis C program opens in the area. The only other option is to be referred out of town for treatment. Unfortunately, transportation out of town is not possible for many people.
Treatment of Hepatitis C has been simplified. Uncomplicated cases require blood work alone and minimal monitoring. The treatments are safe and effective with very few adverse effects from the medication. Specialist care is no longer required for treatment.
For the past 2 years we have been successfully treating viral hepatitis in the office based on the current guidelines (www.hcvguidelines.org).Through participation in Project ECHO and utilizing the National Clinician Consultation Center from the University of California, San Francisco we are able to safely cure more complex cases.
Your health care provider can easily refer you to our office for treatment. OR YOU CAN JUST CALL US!! You do not need to change your health care provider. You do not need to have any services in this office other than hepatitis C treatment.
